Tesla is preparing for the first Cybertruck collisions with new role

Tesla is recruiting for a Program Manager in Collision Readiness in Fremont, California, and Austin, Texas, to help it prepare for the first incidents and collisions involving the Cybertruck and other new cars.

Many things are scheduled to happen after the Cybertruck is delivered for the first time later this month at a Delivery Event in Austin at Gigafactory Texas. This involves creating a number of positions to manage activities that arise after delivery, including the possibility of accidents.

It is a known fact that one of the initial Cybertrucks to be supplied will inevitably get involved in an accident. Tesla is searching for a Program Manager for the Collision Readiness section of the Cybertruck and other vehicle releases in order to get ready for the launch of this entirely new vehicle, which it notes is unlike anything else on the market.

Tesla writes:

“Tesla is seeking a highly motivated and organized Program Manager to lead Collision Readiness in support of New Vehicle Product Introductions. This role is responsible for ensuring the Collision Organization is ready for the introduction and delivery of new products. The ideal candidate will constantly identify opportunities to make the business more efficient while enhancing the customer experience.”

The role's duties and responsibilities also outline the necessity of creating maintenance plans as a result of the increase in automobile ownership brought about by the ramp-up in production:

Develop vision and roadmap for the collision launch operations based on business need and forecasted impact, with respective sub-projects and target timelines
Lead team responsible for day-to-day support of initial collision repairs and act as the point of contact for field escalations. Continuously drive for improvement and efficiencies
Develop strategy to scale up operations as we expand deliveries and repair facilities.
Partner with Engineering to provide feedback on escalations and field countermeasures.
Identify KPIs to track progress and success, partner with Business Analytics to develop reporting suite for tracking and insights.
Provide clear updates on program status and recovery plans at both working and executive level.
Travel to field, engineering, or operations offices as needed.

The position is open in Austin and Fremont. Additionally, Tesla is getting ready to deal with new repair techniques for the Model 3 "Highland," which has been spotted in California and has been revealed in previous filings to be constructed in Northern California.

On November 30, Tesla is scheduled to deliver the first Cybertrucks. The Model 3 "Highland" has no set date of delivery in the US, although it has been seen testing the vehicle on public roads numerous times, in both covered and uncovered conditions.
