Massive batches of Tesla Cybertruck castings spotted at Giga Texas

Massive quantities of Cybertruck castings have been observed inside Tesla's Texas Gigafactory in recent days, indicating the vehicle's initial manufacturing ramp ahead of a delivery event later this month.

Joe Tegtmeyer, a drone pilot, saw a large group of Cybertruck castings at Giga Texas on Monday, noting that a previous batch from Friday was already gone. With over 100 units, the batch on Friday appeared to be the largest bunch of Cybertruck castings seen in the Austin, Texas foundry to date.

Monday's batch appears to be a touch smaller, but it's comparable to a bunch of Cybertruck castings saw earlier this month. Furthermore, the removal of the huge batch from Friday indicates that Tesla is ramping up Cybertruck production in preparation for the delivery event later this month.

Tegtmeyer also noticed up to 13 production Cybertrucks scattered about the factory, which he assumes were used for photo opportunities over the weekend.

The sighting occurs ahead of Tesla's Cybertruck Delivery Event on November 30, for which the company held a random raffle for shareholders to win the opportunity to attend in person. Last week, Tesla's Investor Relations Head Martin Viecha announced that the event's guest list had been set, and that invitations would be delivered to winners "soon(ish)."

At the time of writing, it was unclear whether anyone had been invited to the Giga Texas event.

It also follows the Cybertruck's appearance at the Electrify Expo 2023 in Austin over the weekend. This weekend, it was also revealed that Cybertruck purchasers will be subject to a "no resale" restriction within a year of purchase, or Tesla will sue them for $50,000.
