Tesla Cybertruck Entry-level Version Stops Taking Orders

YESLAK - Premium Tesla Accessories

On August 13th, Tesla stopped accepting orders for the rear-wheel-drive base model of the Cybertruck. According to Tesla's U.S. website, this version was priced at $60,990, making it the most affordable Cybertruck variant, with initial deliveries planned for 2025. Meanwhile, the prices for the all-wheel-drive model and the Cyberbeast (three-motor version) have increased by nearly $20,000, with the adjusted prices now at $99,990 and $119,990, respectively. Additionally, the range for these models has been revised: the all-wheel-drive version's range has dropped from 320 miles to 301 miles, and the Cyberbeast's range has decreased from 340 miles to 318 miles.

Industry analysts suggest that Tesla's significant adjustment to the Cybertruck lineup might be related to lower-than-expected demand for the vehicle. Tesla had planned for an annual production capacity of 200,000 units for the Cybertruck. Previously, Tesla CEO Elon Musk revealed that the company had reached a production rate of 1,300 Cybertrucks per week (approximately 5,200 per month). Tesla's goal is to achieve a weekly production rate of 2,500 vehicles (around 10,000 per month) by the end of 2024. Earlier, Musk had indicated that Tesla had the capability to deliver around 250,000 Cybertrucks annually.

The Cybertruck, Tesla's first electric pickup truck, was unveiled on November 22, 2019, at the company's headquarters in Los Angeles. As Tesla's debut electric pickup, the Cybertruck gained significant global attention. Within just one week of its reveal in 2019, Tesla announced that it had received over 250,000 orders for the vehicle. However, it wasn't until late last year that the Cybertruck began to be delivered to consumers.

In December 2023, the Cybertruck officially commenced its first deliveries from Tesla's Texas Gigafactory, along with the announcement of its pricing: $60,990 for the rear-wheel-drive version, $79,990 for the all-wheel-drive version, and $99,990 for the Cyberbeast model. The all-wheel-drive and Cyberbeast versions are slated for a 2024 release, while the most affordable rear-wheel-drive version won't be delivered until 2025. In the market, the Cybertruck primarily competes with the Ford F-150 Lightning, Chevrolet Silverado EV, and GMC Hummer EV.

Compared to other pickup trucks available in the U.S. market, the Cybertruck stands out due to its unique design. It features an exterior made of stainless steel exoskeleton with no paint, giving it the appearance of a large, wheeled metallic trapezoid. The interior follows a minimalist design, with an 18.5-inch center touchscreen in the front row, a newly designed steering wheel, and no gear shift lever, as gear changes are controlled via the center screen. In terms of power, the Cybertruck offers three options: single-motor rear-wheel drive, dual-motor all-wheel drive, and tri-motor all-wheel drive. The tri-motor version produces 845 horsepower and includes an exclusive "Beast Mode," enabling 0-100 km/h acceleration in 2.7 seconds. It has a range of approximately 515 kilometers, with an optional extended battery pack that increases the range to 705 kilometers.

It's worth noting that since its delivery began, the Cybertruck has encountered several issues, leading to four recalls. In June of this year, the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) disclosed that Tesla would recall 11,688 Cybertrucks, covering all vehicles produced between November 13, 2023, and June 6, 2024. The recall was issued due to a potential malfunction in the single-arm windshield wiper of the affected vehicles. The issue, caused by excessive current, could lead to the failure of the windshield wiper motor controller, rendering the wiper inoperative. This would reduce visibility and increase the risk of a crash, posing a potential safety hazard, especially in rainy conditions.

In the Chinese market, Tesla showcased the Cybertruck in a roadshow at the end of January this year. However, the vehicle is not available for order on Tesla's China website. Tesla China has previously indicated that while the Cybertruck is classified as a pickup truck in the U.S., this classification might change in China due to regulatory restrictions on pickup trucks. Furthermore, due to limitations related to production capacity and regulations, the Cybertruck is unlikely to enter the Chinese market in the short term. Additionally, Tesla CEO Elon Musk has mentioned on social media that the Cybertruck (referred to as the "Cyber Off-Road Vehicle") would face significant challenges to legally operate on Chinese roads. Whether the vehicle will be available in China in the future remains uncertain.

Additionally, according to media reports, Tesla has sent emails to Canadian Cybertruck reservation holders, allowing them to convert their reservations into official orders, indicating that deliveries in the Canadian market will begin soon. It is reported that Tesla is offering two Cybertruck models in Canada: the all-wheel-drive version, priced at CAD 137,990, and the Cyberbeast (tri-motor version), priced at CAD 165,990.

With Tesla's Cybertruck facing various challenges and updates since its release, including multiple recalls and changes in market availability, many owners and prospective buyers are looking for ways to enhance and personalize their vehicles. Whether you're in the U.S., Canada, or another market where the Cybertruck is soon to be available, it's important to consider how the right accessories can improve your driving experience and address some of the vehicle's quirks.

For example, the Cybertruck's distinctive design and features may benefit from specific accessories that enhance its functionality, comfort, and aesthetic appeal. Websites like Yeslak offer a range of accessories tailored specifically for the Cybertruck. These include everything from protective covers and custom storage solutions to innovative tech add-ons that can make your Cybertruck truly your own.

As Tesla continues to roll out the Cybertruck across different markets, including the recent move to allow Canadian reservation holders to finalize their orders, now is the perfect time to explore these accessories. They not only help personalize the vehicle but also address potential gaps or needs that arise from Tesla's updates and recalls. Whether you're looking to boost the Cybertruck's off-road capabilities or simply want to add a personal touch to your new electric pickup, the right accessories can make a significant difference in your overall experience.
